Winter Hazel
This winter hazel was imported from Japan by Iseli Nursery & Joe Harris in the early 2000's. It came to RAKUYO in 2017 and has been one of the most popular bonsai on the benches. It was on display at the Portland Japanese Garden in 2018.

White Chojubai
This white chojubai quince was restarted in 2013 from old pre-bonsai nursery stock grown by Gary Wood. It was worked and developed yearly with Michael Hagedorn in a St. Louis study group, until moving to Portland in 2019 during Andrew's apprenticeship. I was potted into a Yamafusa container in 2020.

Winter Hazel
This winter hazel was imported from Japan by Iseli Nursery & Joe Harris in the early 2000's. It came to RAKUYO in 2016 and was our first winter hazel bonsai. The front was changed and the bonsai redesigned in 2018 to create a more contrasting flow opposite the secondary trunks.

Winterberry
This winter hazel was imported from Japan by Iseli Nursery & Joe Harris in the early 2000's. Here it lived with Bob Laws for many years and came to RAKUYO in 2019. It was recently repotted into a green Reiho ceramic.

Red Chojubai
This red chojubai quince was imported from Japan many years ago and was grown for a few years by Matt Reel. It was a very special gift in 2016 and was the first bonsai Andrew acquired during his apprenticeship. It is planted in an antique Chinese ceramic.
